Ask for a five-minute overview of tomorrow’s topic: the three ideas that matter, and two questions you should be able to answer by the end of class. Walk in with those. Close the chat before the lecture starts.

Is using AI to study cheating?
Study is what goes into your head. Submit is what you hand in. Those are different rules, and the syllabus for that class is the one that counts. Test week is a different job — that loop is exam prep, not this hour.

Is using AI to study cheating?
Using AI to quiz yourself, make flashcards from your notes, or get a concept explained is studying — the same category as a tutor or a study guide. Submitting AI-written work as yours is cheating. The syllabus for that class is the rule. If it is unclear, ask before you start.
How do I use ChatGPT to study?
Paste the notes or slides from the unit. Ask it to quiz you one question at a time and to withhold answers until you respond. After you answer, have it grade you and ask a follow-up on the miss. Do not ask it to summarize the chapter and reread that. Check facts against the syllabus. ChatGPT is a chat that can run that loop. The tutor that already does it is Stephen AI.
Does using AI actually help you learn?
It helps when you retrieve: you answer first, from memory, then get a hint or a grade. It hurts when the model does the thinking — summaries you only read, solutions you never attempt. Fluency in the chat is not fluency on the page. Close it and write one explanation in your own words.
Can AI make flashcards from my notes?
Yes. Paste or photograph the notes, then ask for one idea per card, question on the front, short answer on the back. Cover the back and say the answer out loud. Generated cards can include a fact that is not in your course — check them against the unit. A photo of those notes can become the cards in Stephen AI.
What is the best way to study with AI?

How do I use AI as a tutor?

Will studying with AI make me worse at the subject?
