Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern access to and use of the Stephen AI mobile application and the related website. By using the App or the website, the user accepts these Terms. If the user does not agree, the App and the website should not be used. An account is required to use the App. Creating an account includes accepting these Terms and the Privacy Policy.

1. The service

Stephen AI is a study tutor. Users can ask questions, send photos or documents, interact by voice, and use study tools. Features may change over time and may differ by plan or platform.

2. Account

The account is created with an email address, Google Sign-In, or Sign in with Apple. The user is responsible for the account and for keeping access credentials confidential.

The App is for everyone. Special-category data is not requested.

Sharing an account or creating multiple accounts to evade limits is not allowed.
Stephen AI may limit simultaneous sessions and the creation of accounts on the same device.
The account can be deleted from Settings > Delete Account.

Stephen AI may send service messages to the account email (sign-in and operational communications about the App). These are not promotional emails. Each message includes a link to stop receiving them.

3. Free plan and subscriptions

Stephen AI is offered as a free plan with periodic usage limits, and as a paid subscription purchased through the App Store or Google Play.

Prices, duration, and billing are shown in the store at purchase. Payment is charged to the Apple ID or Google account at confirmation of purchase, by Apple or Google, not by the distributor.
Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Cancellation is done in the Apple ID account settings or in Google Play subscriptions, not in the App. On the App Store, cancellation must be made at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
Deleting the Stephen AI account does not cancel a paid subscription and does not stop store charges.
Withdrawal and refunds follow Apple’s or Google’s rules.
A subscription is linked to one Stephen AI account. Where the platform allows it, purchases can be restored to that account.

4. Invitations

Stephen AI may offer an invitation program with benefits, at its discretion. Rules and benefits may change or end at any time. Abuse (including inviting oneself or creating fake accounts) may result in exclusion from the program and in measures against the account.

5. User content

The user is responsible for messages, photos, documents, and audio sent through the App, and for having the right to send them. By sending content, the user grants Stephen AI the permission needed to process it in order to provide the service.

If a session is shared, anyone with the link can open it. Content that is unlawful, that infringes others’ rights, or that is unsuitable for an educational context is not allowed.

6. Artificial intelligence

Responses are generated automatically and may be inaccurate or incomplete. Stephen AI is a study aid, not professional advice and not a substitute for a teacher or school. The user should verify information before relying on it, including for homework or exams.

7. Conduct

The user must not:

abuse, harass, or harm others;
interfere with the service, scrape it, or circumvent usage limits;
use the App for unlawful purposes.

Stephen AI may suspend or close an account that violates these Terms.

8. Availability

The service is provided as is. It may be interrupted, changed, or discontinued. To the extent permitted by law, Stephen AI is not liable for damages arising from use of the App or from reliance on AI-generated content.

9. Privacy

How personal information is handled is described in the Privacy Policy.

10. App Store (Apple)

For users who download the App from the Apple App Store, these additional terms apply. The Application Provider is the sole proprietorship identified at the bottom of this page, not Apple.

These Terms are between the user and the Application Provider, not Apple. The Application Provider is solely responsible for the App and its content.
Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App.
If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, the user may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation.
Apple is not responsible for addressing claims relating to the App, including product liability claims, claims that the App fails to conform to legal or regulatory requirements, and claims under consumer protection or similar legislation.
If a third party claims that the App or the user’s possession and use of the App infringes that third party’s intellectual property rights, the Application Provider, not Apple, is solely responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge of that claim.
The user represents that they are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo, or designated as a “terrorist supporting” country, and are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
The user must comply with applicable third-party terms when using the App (for example, wireless data terms).
Apple and Apple’s subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms. Upon the user’s acceptance, Apple will have the right to enforce these Terms against the user as a third-party beneficiary.

11. Changes

Stephen AI may update these Terms by publishing a new version on this page and changing the “Last Updated” date. Changes take effect when published. Continued use of the App after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
